327 W 11th StSaw Philip Seymour Hoffman sitting out front of 11th Street Cafe (327 W 11th Street) around 9:15, sipping an iced coffee. He was as schlubby looking as always, sitting with a friend (didn't recognize the friend), and telling the friend to "read the New Yorker!" As the line moved into the cafe, I couldn't hear which article in the current issue he was urging his friend to read, but maybe something Obama-y?

Broadway & 55th StHe was riding a bike up 8th avenue. I was getting ready to cross over 8th when he rode by on his bike wearing a Yankees cap. What a great way to start the day!

Broadway & 55th StStanding outside the Radio Shack a block away from the David Letterman studio. Philip was wearing expensive-looking madras shorts and he was talking to another man. His hair was a mix of red and gray and I heard his signature voice. I thought he was waiting for the bus since he was standing pretty close to a bus stop, but he did not get on the bus when it arrived. People were noticing him, since he is pretty hard to miss.

Bleecker St & Thompson StI saw Philip Seymour Hoffman at the corner of Bleecker and Thompson walking east at 9am this morning. He looked like a scruffy, bear who had just rolled out of bed - so cute! Yes, I think PSH is cute.

W 49th St & 5th AveI was on the dowtown R train today when Phillip Seymour Hoffman got on the train. He was with a male friend. PSH talked to him about a project then started talking about Heath Ledger. PSH is really sad about Heath's death because apparently they worked on a movie together last summer. PSH had called Michelle Williams to express condolences but had not heard back.
